A Sunny Start to "It's a Wrap - Canvas & Connection"
It was a beautiful, sun-drenched day at Harrison Park as community members gathered to celebrate the launch of Artcures’ Community Canvas Installation, titled “It’s a Wrap – Canvas & Connection.” The atmosphere was joyful and welcoming, with families, friends, and curious passersby drawn in by the promise of creativity and connection.
Over 100 feet of canvas—generously donated by Upper Canada Stretchers—was unfurled across picnic tables, ready to be transformed. Paint pots popped open, rollers stood at attention, and soon the canvas came alive with bold shapes, vibrant symbols, and spontaneous gestures. Participants of all ages and abilities joined in, each adding their own mark to the evolving tapestry. It was play, it was art, it was community in motion.
The journey continues with Stage Two at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market on Sunday, October 19th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, where participants will be invited to create images using stencils and brayers. Everyone is welcome—come add your voice to the canvas.
