October: Art in the Rain Unfolding Grit and Colour

Today’s second art workshop unfolded under a cool October drizzle, a far cry from the sunlit buzz of September’s kickoff. But while the crowd was smaller, the spirit was anything but. This tight-knit band of artists arrived ready—not just to participate, but to dive in, sleeves rolled and imaginations primed.

With 100 feet of canvas stretched out like a runway for creativity, the group attacked the second layer of the art ribbons with gusto. Rollers and brayers clattered, stencils danced, and templates transformed blank space into bold expression. Rain may have softened the edges of the day, but inside the workshop, colour and energy surged.

There’s something special about making art in less-than-perfect conditions. It asks for commitment, for camaraderie, for a kind of joyful defiance. And that’s exactly what this group brought: enthusiasm, focus, and a shared sense of purpose.

The ribbons are evolving—layer by layer, workshop by workshop—into something that reflects not just technique, but community. And today, in the rain, that community showed up beautifully.
